Pao Chuen Lui (Singapore) – Honorary Member Citation

Pao Chuen Lui served the Ministry of Defense of Singapore for 41 years until his retirement in 2008, and as Chief Defense Scientist from 1986. Prof. Lui was appointed Commander of the Royal Order of the Polar Star in Sweden and was inducted into the US Naval Post Graduate School Hall of Fame, where he was also appointed as a Senior Fellow and named a Distinguished Alumni. P. C. Lui has dedicated his professional life to systems thinking and its application, with desirable outcomes for both the civilian and defense sectors of Singapore, while contributing simultaneously to advances in the development of systems engineering worldwide. A master of systems engineering education and professional practice, a dedicated teacher and university administrative advisor, Prof. Lui is an outstanding role model for systems engineers everywhere. In 2009, he received the prestigious Pioneer Award from INCOSE. Therefore, the Omega Alpha Association Board of Directors is delighted and honored to welcome Professor Pao Chuen Lui to Honorary Membership in the emerging International Honor Society for Systems Engineering, with the above citation presented at the Asia Pacific Council on Systems Enginreering Conference on Collaboration for Intelligent Systems, hosted during October 2010 in Taiwan, Republic of China.
